HISTORY 108-WEB: The Three Worlds: Europe, The Americas and The Third World in Modern Times
Course Description: A history of Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia in modern times; selected historical studies of imperialism, colonialism, nationalism and independence movements.
3 hrs. 3 cr. Prerequisites: English 125 and three credits of History.
The objectives of this class are as follows:
- Identify and apply the fundamental concepts and research methods of History.
- Discuss imperialism, colonialism, nationalism and independence movements, and the impact of revolutions and world wars.
- Explain the significance of major movements that have shaped the world’s societies.
- Analyze the historical development of non-U.S. societies.
- Understand why different peoples think, govern themselves, fight and interact with each other the way they do.

You are not required to purchase a textbook for this course but you must keep up to date with the reading. You may also retrieve info on world history from the link sources below.
